A high school football team with no band is sad, but a high school band with no team to play for is even sadder.

Action 10 News Corpus Christi reports that the Michigan Forest Area high school football team had to cancel their season due to low player participation. Leaving the band in the dust.

Meanwhile, the nearby Glen Lake Lakers had been playing this season without a band. When they heard of Forest Area's situation, they didn't hesitate to ask them to play on Friday night.

The band started excited to play for a team, learned the Lakers fighting song right away.

"No Friday night football game under those lights is complete without your sideline cheer team and a marching band,"

-Mark Mattson, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Glen Lake

The Lakers ended up victorious with the music motivating them the whole way.

Glenn Lake said that Forest Area is welcome back anytime.
