Lil Wayne could jump into the beef between Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell and sports commentator Skip Bayless. In an interview with TMZ, Bayless said he might get Weezy to respond to Bell’s recent diss track “Shrimp Bayless.”

“Now that you mentioned it, you just planted the seed in my mind,” Bayless said. “Wayne might get a text from me later on today.”

The sports pundit and Wayne are friends, so the idea makes sense. Wayne created the theme song for Bayless' Fox Sports 1 show Undisputed.

Bayless may not be able to respond with his own raps, but he has not backed down. The former ESPN talking head stood by his criticism of Bell, noting that the star tailback did not refute any of his statements. Bayless insists that Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekial Elliott is better than Bell.

“Now, to Le’Veon’s message to me in the track, once again, Le’Veon has insulted me without refuting me,” he said. “I’ll say it again, insulted me without refuting my on-air points. The insults do not bother me, they’re like sticks and stones. I shrug them off, I chuckle at them, whatever.”

Bell may not have refuted Bayless, but he did claim the television personality is simply dissing him for ratings.

"I don’t know why you hating/Probably cause my name is mentioned close with some of the greatest/Then they talk about patience, you close to testing my patience/You say whatever for ratings/I’m not blind, I can see it/You say I’m just an average running back, no way you believe it," Bell rapped.
