Suspect in Standoff with Police Near St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple
UPDATE: Temple PD Spokeswoman Shawana Neely said a shooting victim was taken to Scott & White Hospital, but did not comment on the extend of the victim's injuries, who shot her, or her name.
Meanwhile, Ebony & Ivory Childcare, Grace Learning Center, and St. Mary's School are on hard lockdown as police continue to search the area for the suspect.
Temple police were involved in a standoff with a suspect on South 7th Street Thursday morning.
KXXV reports that the suspect barricaded himself in somewhere near St. Mary's Catholic Church at 1018 S. 7th. Police received a report of shots fired in the area around 9 AM.
According to our news partner KWTX, the standoff stems from a report of a man acting suspiciously and wielding a knife at Feed My Sheep ministries at 116 W. Ave. G. Police say shots were fired.
