If you've got some old towels lying around the house, please don't throw them away. The Temple Animal Shelter could really use them to help bring comfort to pets in need.

This Friday, November 15, the Temple Animal Shelter is celebrating America Recycles Day with an Animal Shelter Towel Drive. From 10 AM to 1 PM, you can drop off old and used towels at 620 Mama Dog Circle.

If you feel like being extra generous, they'll take new towels as well. Those would be extra fluffy and make a doggie or kitty very happy.

Personally, I have a pile of old towels that I call my "spares", even though I never use them. I should definitely pile them up in the car and take them to the shelter. The thought of a dog or cat in need finding comfort in something I wasn't using anyway is heart warming.

While you're there, why not visit the pets? You may find your next best friend. I adopted my dog, Leela, from the Temple Animal Shelter three years ago. She's one of the best things to ever happen to me. I'm not sure the pillows she's destroyed feel the same, but that's a different story.
