Tesla Energy Could Be The Next Big Player in the Texas Electric Game

Elon Musk is fully invested in Texas, and to prove it, Tesla has submitted an application to sell electricity in the state.

According to a report from Texas Monthly, Elon Musk has created a new money making branch of his company called Tesla Energy Ventures.

This month, an application was submitted to the Public Utility Commission of Texas to allow Tesla Energy Ventures to sell electricity in the market. With the memory of February's winter storm knocking out electricity for thousands of Texans still fresh on our minds, this actually may be the perfect time for Musk to fill a void. The public is already aware of Musk's vast achievements when it comes to technology, and the company will most likely easily sway Tesla owners.

The real question is if the Public Utility Commission of Texas will approve Tesla Energy Venture's application.

ERCOT is under heavy scrutiny for their role in the power grid failure, and now here we are once more approaching winter. There's no word on just how much Tesla Energy will cost the average user, but reliability is something most would pay more for.
