This month, an application was submitted to the Public Utility Commission of Texas to allow Tesla Energy Ventures to sell electricity in the market. With the memory of February's winter storm knocking out electricity for thousands of Texans still fresh on our minds, this actually may be the perfect time for Musk to fill a void. The public is already aware of Musk's vast achievements when it comes to technology, and the company will most likely easily sway Tesla owners.

The real question is if the Public Utility Commission of Texas will approve Tesla Energy Venture's application.

ERCOT is under heavy scrutiny for their role in the power grid failure, and now here we are once more approaching winter. There's no word on just how much Tesla Energy will cost the average user, but reliability is something most would pay more for.

Tesla's mission is to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. To create an entire sustainable energy ecosystem, Tesla also manufactures a unique set of energy solutions, Powerwall, Powerpack and Solar Roof, enabling homeowners, businesses, and utilities to manage renewable energy generation, storage, and consumption.

All the pieces seem to be coming together for Tesla. Let's see if Texas will play nice and allow them entrance into the electric game.
