Texas has had quite the extra seasoning as we approach the final week of October with record temperatures falling over the last few days, and a good chance a few more records will be made before we reach November. Here we are almost fully immersed in the holiday season and looking into the winter months that we will be experiencing during a La Nina, and yet we have not really experienced fall yet as the daytime highs have consistently been double digits above the norms.

If our current fall conditions continue much longer, we will be mowing our grass through the new year, and putting up and taking down all of the holiday conditions while sweating just as much as we did for the Halloween ones.
The above map concerns me way more than what to expect in the way of temperatures because if we can't recover from the dry months, and refill our water supply in order to a safe operating level, then all kinds of disaster could be on the horizon in the new year.

While it is likely everyone is on board for a mild winter after a the last few having devastating periods of power outages and frozen roads, we still need to recoup our water.

So, if La Nina wouldn't mind, please cool it and shower, not sprinkle, some rain in there while you're at it this winter.
