I can't lie: I was, and still am, in complete shock hearing about this story.

And then to look at the photos....

Yikes!

This is totally unbelievable!

KABB reports that a man who contracted Coronavirus had to get his toes and fingers amputated after being unconscious for weeks.

Reportedly, Cesar Velazquez was admitted to a San Antonio hospital after being diagnosed with Covid-19.

While unconscious, Velazquez received Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).

With some treatments and medications come side effects.

One of the side effects of receiving this treatment is that it may lead to necrosis, which is the death of cells in an organ or tissue due to lack of blood supply which turns the area black.

And that's what happened to Velazquez.

As you can see in the video, his skin is completely black. WARNING: The video below is graphic in nature, so viewer discretion is advised.

Not being able to afford medical insurance, he traveled to Mexico where his brother is an emergency room doctor, and there got the fingers and toes amputated.

The single father of two children is surprised by his condition despite not having pre-existing conditions.

His family has set up a GoFundMe page to help aid his long recovery.
