Texas has already had to survive one Polar Vortex infiltration earlier in this winter season that dumped snow across the bulk of the the northern half of the Texas Triangle, but now it is the southern half's turn to survive what many like to refer to as, "The white stuff."

Shout out to all weather professionals over the last 4 weeks as they have been able to adequately prepare the Lone Star State's residents for the incredible cold snaps that have already occurred and are now reoccurring while reasonably anticipating and predicting what we could expect precipitation wise.

Snow, Sleet Now Expected To Mercilessly Pound Bulk Of Texas

The Gulf of Mexico region is particularly being proactive as the further south you get through the triangle, the more snow is expected to impact the area. If you look at the weather models, there is a good chance moisture from the gulf could continue to back into the Texas mainland, and fuel the sleet and snowfall while we are all well below freezing tonight and tomorrow.

The weather in the immediate Houston metro is expected to be severe enough, they are closing the airports tonight and they will remain closed through the entire day tomorrow. Literally zero flights will take off or land outside of emergency reasons on Tuesday, and provided nothing changes in the weather predictions, the airports will reopen for business as usual on Wednesday.
