This Is Great! Harker Heights Has An Exciting New Entertainment Venue Coming Soon
For as long as I've been in the Killeen, Texas area, the thing everybody has always said is there's nothing to do around here.
But now that's about to change!
Imagine being able to participate in axe throwing, 9 holes of mini-golf, and escape rooms with a Scooby-Doo and Star Trek theme, and not having to drive all the way to Dallas or Austin to experience it.
Central Texas, Copperas Cove, Killeen, Belton, and Temple: get ready for a new entertainment venue coming to Harker Heights called the Gambit Social House.
According to KCEN's Baylee Bates, a Central Texas family is responsible for bringing a new entertainment venue to Harker Heights.
Candy Bell, President of the Gambit Social House, told KCEN:
"Our Killeen, Heights area does not really have any entertainment venues other than restaurants or bars, so we wanted somewhere where people could hang out, eat, socialize, play some games, and just disconnect from the phone for a little while.
Bell said she believes COVID-19 and people focusing so much on their phones have caused social connections to be lost, and she hopes the Gambit Social House can be a place for people to relax and reconnect. She also thinks the location along Knight's Way is perfect for visibility and bringing attention to the area.
This reel on Vimeo shows some of the features coming along with the new hangout.
Reportedly, the new 13,000 feet square-foot facility will also include indoor and outdoor spaces for socializing.
For our beer drinkers, the place will also have a 40-foot self-serve tap that can hold up to 54 different beers!
The new facility is expected to bring in up to 100 jobs to the area. The Gambit Social House is currently scheduled to open in Spring 2022.
This should be exciting news for people in Harker Heights who are tired of having to drive all over creation in search of fun stuff to do together. Killeen's got indoor trampoline parks, and Temple's got Spare Time for bowling, laser tag, etc. Not to mention the adventure park in the Temple Mall.
It's about time Harker Heights had something of its own!
