Good news for those who qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. (SNAP) You're now able to purchase groceries online for pick up or delivery from Walmart and Amazon.

According to a press release from Texas Health and Human Services, Governor Greg Abbott announced that those who use the SNAP program can use the program for grocery delivery from Walmart and Amazon and also use their Lone Star Card, and will only need to enter their pin number to complete the purchase. SNAP will not cover delivery or convenience fees however.

HHS Access and Eligibility Deputy Executive Commissioner Wayne Salter said in the release, “This innovative initiative helps provide healthy food to Texas families who need it the most during this challenging time. We’re committed to reducing food insecurity for at-risk Texans.”
