Trial Date Set For Reginald Jackson In Fatal Shooting Outside Obok In Killeen

The trial date of a man accused of shooting Deandre Patrick Thomas outside of the Obok Restaurant and Club in Killeen has been set.

According to the Killeen Daily Herald, Reginald Ferlandus Jackson is set for a jury trial on Aug. 26 almost a year after he allegedly shot and killed Thomas after the two men reportedly got into an argument just before 2:00 A.M. on August 18, 2018.

According to KWTX News 10, a security camera outside of the club captured the entire incident that lead up to the shooting and the shooting itself on video. The security camera shows Jackson and Thomas arguing at the front door of the club, and the suspect can be seen producing a handgun from his waist area and intentionally pointing the firearm at the victim and firing the weapon, Jackson's arrest affidavit said.

Fifteen minutes after the initial call, officers found Jackson in the area of Cantabrian Loop. Police would later find the murder weapon, a .45 caliber handgun, between the club and the site of Jackson's arrest. Thomas died an hour later at Darnall Army Medical Center.

Jackson has been out of jail since posting a $100,000 bond on Oct. 13.
