Nine Gangster Disciplines from Chicago are accused of setting up shop in Killeen, leading to almost 30 arrested in Massive Drug Takedown.
Thursday, state, local and federal authorities arrested 22 people, already having 6 in custody, after seizing $16,000 in cash, 5 pounds of methamphetamine, and 22 firearms.
Reportedly, the Gangster Disciples from Chicago, have been in Killeen since October 2015.
Other charges include distributing cocaine, crack cocaine and methamphetamine.
Will Glaspy, the special agent in charge of the operation for the U.S. DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) said “It's organizations like what we took off the street today that are in charge of distributing the poison in our neighborhoods, and in this case two significant trafficking organizations have been removed from our communities making Central Texas a much safer place,”
KWTX also reports some of those arrested may face life in prison.
