Kobe Bryant, a sports icon, one of the most decorated basketball players of all time, 5 time NBA champion, MVP, and Olympic Gold Medalist was killed Sunday along with 8 others in a helicopter crash in California.

One of those passengers was his 13-year-old daughter.

As I write this, man I am in tears.

When the news broke, I was in total shock and in disbelief as I assume you were.

I was privileged enough to grow up in Chicago, so I watched Michael Jordan as a little boy and in my teenage years. As I gained more understanding of the game and appreciated it more, Kobe was the man!

I called him the West Coast Jordan. He copied everything from Michael Jordan.

And because of that, I Ioved to see him play.

Whether it was his 81 point game...

...or his final game where he scored 60 points...

...we were all lucky to have witnessed this guy.

He was one of the greatest to ever do it.

Kobe Bryant was 41 years old.
