After being in business over 63 years, Payless is closing all of its 2100 stores [CENTEX LIST]

Friday, Payless announced it will be closing all of their 2100 US stores after being in business for over 60 years.

I remember growing up, if you had gym shoes from Payless (they were called Pro-wings and XJ-900's) you were laughed at lol ...you see....the gym shoes were similar to Air Jordan's but Payless's version were Pro Wings, they looked exactly alike... but you know..... they just weren’t Jordans..

I never got laughed at!

I wasn’t fortunate enough to have Jordans, I was right above the Pro- Wings.

Like on the Reebok, British Knights, Diadora, L.A. Gear level...anything was better than Pro wings!

Ok, getting back to the subject, in a statement released Friday night, Payless expects some stores to remain open until the end of March and the remaining stores in May.

This affects 5 stores in Central Texas:

-The Central Texas Marketplace in Waco

- Payless 5201 Bosque Blvd in Waco

- Payless in The Temple Mall

- Payless in the Market Place Shopping Center located at 3052 South 31st

- Payless in Killeen inside the Expressway Plaza

With the closing, the liquidation sales begin this Sunday, February 17th.
