BET Awards coming to Austin?

One of the biggest nights in Music may be coming to Austin!

The BET Awards who just finished their 16th annual show in L.A. is reportedly considering Houston, Austin, and Atlanta as possible destinations for the famed awards show.

The current contract with AEG Live, (the entertainment company that produces the BET Awards) is ending, coinciding with the exit of Debra Lee the longtime Chairman and CEO of the network.

Rumors are circulating that they are looking at other destinations such as Atlanta, the main city in the country where the music scene pops Atlanta!

The Largest city in the south, Houston, and the live music capital of the world, Austin.

A joint statement released by BET and both AEG Live reveals that "they will begin discussing a contract extension in the near future"
