Beto O’Rourke Making A Stop In Killeen, Harker Heights, Texas This Saturday
I've had my eye on Beto for quite some time.
I look at him as a star in the Democratic Party in the very red state of Texas.
But does he have a shot at the governor's office?
That remains to be seen.
He unsuccessfully ran against Ted Cruz back in 2018 and dropped out of the presidential race back in 2019.
Now he's going head to head against incumbent governor Greg Abbott for Governor Of Texas.
Let's pay attention to the numbers:
In the senate race in 2018, Republican Ted Cruz received 50.9% of the vote, receiving 4,260,553 votes total, while O' Rourke received 48.3%, getting a total of 4,045,632 votes.
That's only a margin of almost 215,000 votes.
Texas is a red state, but it seems by the numbers that things are changing.
Only time will tell, but if you look at those numbers, it's not a bad thing to assume he has a legitimate shot for the November 8th, 2022 Texas Gubernatorial race.
He's already raised 2 million dollars the first day he announced his candidacy, according to the Texas Tribune.
O' Rourke will be making a stop in the Killeen- Harker Heights area this weekend.
According to our partners at KWTX, his campaign is holding a rally at Carl Levin Pavillion Saturday morning at 10 am.
If you are on the fence about who you are supporting for the election next year or fully support Beto, you may want to come to hear him speak so you make an educated decision for yourself come election time.
