Blueface is set to fight the charge against him in court, in relation to the shooting he was arrested for back in November 2018.

On Friday (July 19), the Santa Clarita Valley Signal reported an update on the case. The trial date for Blueface has been set for August 16. According to Paul Eakins, spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the 2019 XXL Freshman is battling against one misdemeanor count of carrying a loaded firearm on one’s person or in a vehicle. That is a big reduction in charges from what Blueface, born Jonathan Porter, was facing when he was initially arrested last November, which was assault with a deadly weapon.

As previously reported, the Los Angeles rapper was at a Chevron gas station at Sierra Highway and Newhall Avenue around 8:30 p.m. when he was robbed at gunpoint. Blueface then chased the assailant down in his vehicle and a gun battle ensued. The incident ended in a collision on the southbound side of Highway 14. The Cash Money West rapper spent a weekend in jail and was released on a $50,000 bond.

He has since had two more run-ins with the law. In February, he was charged with a felony count of carrying a loaded handgun. In that incident, police were called to the scene where the rapper and his crew were congregating and reportedly saw the rapper and others toss pistols and flee when they approached.

He was also detained by police last month following a traffic stop where he was reportedly speeding in a residential area.
