Friends In Crisis Shelter in Killeen to reopen next week
Thanks to contributions from various groups in Central Texas The Friends in Crisis Homeless Shelter will re-open its doors at 3:00 pm July 26th.
The shelter closed back in May due to lack of funding.
KWTX reports that the shelter has raised $165,000 that will keep them open until October.
They have submitted other grant requests and they are confident they will get more money to stay open.
After the shelter was closed the homeless community of Killeen had no other place to go so they set up a tent city outside of the shelter.
This is great news for not only the homeless but to the citizens of Killeen for coming together, great job!
