Chief Keef is out on bail, fresh out of jail, after bonding out of police custody, following his arrest on assault charges on Thursday (Jan. 26). According to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department records, Sosa, born Keith Cozart, posted his $500,000 bail and was released last night (Jan. 27) at 9:33 p.m.

As previously reported, the Chicago rapper is being accused of assaulting producer Ramsay Tha Great. The beat maker alleges that the rapper and his squad broke into his house and assaulted him with an AK-47, causing injury.

“It was a violent home invasion involving firearms being pointed at victims,” LAPD Capt. Brian Pratt told NBC following the arrest. “The detectives did some really great follow up investigation. Witnesses came forward and identified who our suspects were. We knew who we were going after – we weren’t just shooting in the dark.”

People are taking sides in the situation, with some calling Ramsay a snitch for notifying police of what went down.

Frequent Keef collaborator Young chop was especially vocal about situation, recently going off on Ramsay on social media. “That nigga is a bitch ass nigga, and whoever ride wit him, youse a bitch ass nigga too,” Chop said during a recent live stream. “Cause evidently he did some fool to get his ass beat up like that. You feel me? Cause ain’t nobody finna beat yo ass like that for no motherfucking reason. It’s a reason behind every motherfucking thing, why you get yo ass whooped like that.”

Ramsay disagrees. “Ya’ll can say a rat or whatever man, but hey man. I’ll see you in court,” he retorted in a recent Instagram video. “I’ll see you in court.”

Keef's next court date has been set for Feb. 24.
