Dallas Police Officer’s Murder Trial Has Started
Remember back in September of 2018 when the white off duty Dallas Police Officer Amber Guyger allegedly entered the wrong apartment killing the black guy she thought was a burglar in her home?
I mentioned their race because at first, the case was thought to be another case of white cops killing black men.
Her trial started yesterday and prosecutors laid out the many chances to realize she was on the wrong floor of her apartment complex.
According to the Dallas Morning News, a few of the points brought up by Assistant District attorney Jason Hermus is the difference in floors, the difference between the 3rd and fourth floor.
Guygers neighbor's reportedly had a large decorative planter outside but nothing was on the fourth floor where the killing occurred.
Another point brought up was that she “walked past 16 different apartments and failed to see a 4 on any one of them” knowing she could have been on the wrong floor
Also, The victim, Botham Jean’s apartment was cluttered and had a large table near the entryway and it smelled of marijuana, while her apartment was nice and neat.
When I first heard this story, I thought the victim and the police officer were in a relationship and she killed him and but now that I hear this story it comes to me as an accident but there are more details to come
Let’s just hope justice is served we”ll keep you updated on this!
