DMX Is Headed to Rehab, Again, After Judge Lifts Travel Ban
DMX is headed to rehab, again. The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, will voluntarily check himself into rehab after testing positive for cocaine and marijuana several time while under house arrest.
According to New York Daily News, Manhattan Federal Judge Jed Rakoff lifted the travel ban so the veteran rapper can go to rehab. This after he gave approval for X to travel to Atlanta for work as long as he’s with a sober coach at all times.
Unfortunately, DMX’s Atlanta job fell through so he decided to enter an inpatient substance-abuse program, according to his lawyer, Murray Richman.
This isn't the first time X had to do a stint in rehab. Back in April, the former Ruff Ryders rapper checked into a treatment center in Southern California at the urgency of X manager's Pat Gallo.
“It is important right now that he take some time off to focus on his health so that he can be a better father, friend and entertainer.” said Gallo at that time. “We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of concern and support that has poured in. We ask that you please keep X in your prayers as he embraces your support.”
Get well, DMX.
