Tragedy struck Monday as sailors from a crash between the U.S.S. John Mccain and an oil tanker in Singapore left one sailor dead, and 10 others missing.

Reportedly, the collision tore a hole in the ship and flooded communication rooms and machinery.

Today, after more than 80 hours of searching countless miles of the ocean during a multinational search, the Navy has Suspended Search and Rescue efforts and have released the names of the missing sailors with one having ties to Killeen.

John Henry Hoagland III a 20-year-old Electronics Technician who grew up in Cleveland, Texas near Houston lived in Killeen until he enlisted in the Navy in 2015.

He served aboard the U.S.S. John Mccain since October of last year.

Prayers and condolences to the families of the victims.
