The Gatesville community is mourning the loss of a student who died Thursday after an accident on FM 107 between Mound and Gatesville.

While many of the students know this classmate, her name has not yet been released to the public this morning. She was a member of the Junior Class at Gatesville High School.

The news of the fatal crash stunned the students who attended classes this morning as news traveled around the school. Gatesville ISD Superintendent Dr. Barrett Pollard said the final exams going on have been pushed back because of the accident. News 10 reports that counselors are available on campus.

While Gatesville ISD prefers the students remain on campus today they are being released if their parents pick them up.

This student is the third Gatesville High School student to die in a traffic accident so far this year. Sophomores Kyle Tennison and Ethan Sandell both died on April 27th after a crash on Cedar Ridge Road.
