Earlier this week we celebrated Groundhog Day. Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow, and predicted six more weeks of winter.

Well here in Central Texas we went with Bee Cave Bob, an armadillo that predicted an early Spring. I put my faith in 'Ol Bee Cave Bob, but now I'm hearing of an arctic blast heading our way next week that could bring snow with it.

It's like deja vu all over again.

According to our news and weather partners at KWTX, Meteorologist Camille Hoxworth is reporting that our weather is about to get really cold. The good news is that it'll be nice for the weekend and even Monday, but starting Tuesday, temps will be changing.

I, for one, am a little disappointed in Bee Cave Bob.

Let me start by saying that I lived in Colorado for 33 years. That's 33 years of shoveling snow off my driveway, sidewalk, and car. Navigating my way to work trying desperately to avoid Tex...er, I mean, California drivers who have no business driving in snow anyway. 33 years of that.

I moved to Texas in the summer of 2017 and thought I had left all that behind. Things were going so well 'til the winter of 2021, when snow finally made it's way back into my life. I'll admit that it was kind of nice to see it again. I even walked around in it for about a half hour before I got bored with it and went back inside.

I really thought I'd never see it again, but now I'm hearing rumors of more snow possibly making it's way back to cCentral Texas. Twice in one winter. I'm kind of bummed about it.

I know most folks around here love a chance at snow since it is a very rare occasion that it happens, and staying with that thought, I guess I should just shut up and deal with it. So I will.

But here's your warning: Thursday can get really ugly with a chance at a wintery mix of rain, snow, and sleet, plus highs in the mid 30's. YIKES!

The cold is expected to stick around at least through next weekend.

Looks like Punxsutawney Phil was right.... OFF WITH HIS HEAD!
