Keyshia Cole Joins Cast of ‘Love & Hip Hop Hollywood’: ‘I Wanted to Do Something Different’
Keyshia Cole is re-entering the reality show world. The R&B singer is joining the cast of VH1's Love & Hip Hop Hollywood, according to The Jasmine BRAND.
Initially, the 35-year-old songbird wasn’t interested in being on a reality show again (she previously starred on BET's The Way It Is)—the show’s executive producer, Mona Scott, offered some financial numbers that didn’t move her. Sources also told Jasmine BRAND that Cole was aware of the negative reactions of fans to the news she may join the show, which made her back out of the deal.
Recently, the “Heaven Sent” singer confirmed that she is joining L&HHH with her fans on Twitter. "Contractually got what we wanted to move and I want to touch bases with the essence of my fans again. Wanted to do something different," she tweeted.
When one fan worried that the show might hurt her career, Cole rest assured that her story line won't ruin her image. "I'll add to it. The producers seemed cool..." she wrote.
Filming reportedly has already begun for the fourth season, which is expected to air in June on VH1. Cole’s ex-husband, former NBA star Daniel “Booby” Gibson, is also reportedly appearing on the show as well.
