One of the most deplorable scams I've come across has hit the the I-35 corridor in Central Texas and the Seguin Police Department is trying to get the word out on this 'career scam artist'.

Lisa Miculka, age 46, has been caught selling raffle tickets to 'help fund kids with cancer' for the last seven years and her criminal record of fraud and theft dates back to 1999. The problem is, the money given to Miculka never reaches the hands of any kind of charity. Seguin Police Deputy Chief Bruce Ure is disgusted with this act. He told KXAN:

I've been in law enforcement for a long time. This, to me, is almost as egregious as anything that we will ever come across. She is absolutely scamming people out of their money in the name of sick children.

Deputy Chief Ure believes there have been hundreds of victims from cities all around Central Texas - particularly along I-35. Seguin, Schertz, Cibolo, New Braunfels and more have been hit, so police are trying to get businesses up and down the highway to print her  picture and put it on their cash registers.

She is absolutely scamming people out of their money in the name of sick children.

Many victims of this scam artist say she comes across as sweet and innocent and that's a big reason why people don't suspect her of anything at the time.

If anyone is contacted by Miculka for something that may be a scam, police urge you to contact the Seguin Police Department.
