According to a press release by the Killeen Chamber of Commerce, Killeen was named the "Most Courageous City in Texas" by Insurify, an online shopping platform.

There was a growth study done by The 14 Forward Foundation commissioned to analyze the region. The study included the city of Killeen and the Killeen Independent School District.

It showed that out of 2 million insurance applications Killeen's dedication to defending public safety with the highest share of military service members, veterans, firefighters, law enforcement officials, and emergency medical technicians makes the city the most courageous in the state.

Killeen Mayor Jose Segarra said about the ranking:

“Killeen continues to be recognized as a leader in the realm of public service. This is no surprise, since our community is home to some of the bravest men and women in the nation who have served, and continue to serve, in the U.S. Army. We also have an incredible team of dedicated first responders who risk their own safety and comfort for the greater community.”

What do you think? Is there something to this? After all, we are home to the nation's largest military base.
