Killeen Residents Join The Black Lives Matter Movement

Last week was very trying.

The tragic deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile reopened the world's eyes to the severe issues of police brutality against African Americans.

Now, of course tension is at an all time high and most of the world is on pins and needles.

In light of the recent events, different cities are gathering to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

Over the weekend, citizens of Killeen joined in by gathering at Lions Park this past Sunday.

The event was spearheaded by Killeen's very own Mario Christian.

He was able to put on a peaceful protest which allowed individuals to advocate for race equality by voicing their opinions with spoken word and chants.

It was beyond refreshing to see so many people support a positive movement.
