L.A. Reid Accused of Sexual Harassment by Coworker
The New York Post reports that L.A. Reid has been accused of sexually harassing a coworker.
Reid abruptly stepped down as chairman of Epic Records last week, after six years with the label which saw him overseeing projects from Travis Scott, A Tribe Called Quest, Fifth Harmony, Meghan Trainor, DJ Khaled, Future and Rick Ross. The Post alleges that Reid left the label because of the sexual harassment allegations.
A female assistant says the 60 year-old label executive made "inappropriate physical advances" toward her at a Christmas party in 2016, according to a letter sent to Sony Music's General Counsel back on March 22.
The letter also alleges that Reid asked the woman to lie down in bed and give him a hug while the two were at a hotel while traveling on business. Reid also allegedly made comments about what clothes he liked her to wear and described her as looking “fine,” according to the letter.
As of Sunday, Sony Music had no comment on the matter and Reid, who is reportedly in talks to head over to Warner Music Group, has also not commented on the allegations.
