Meek Mill could have his 2008 gun and drugs conviction overturned today.

On Tuesday afternoon (July 16), Meek will appear in front of the Pennsylvania Superior Court without Judge Genece Brinkley, who denied his first attempt last Summer, to vacate the original ruling and get a new trial. Meek wants his gun and drug conviction overturned because his arresting officer, Reginald Graham, has been implicated in police corruption scandals in Philadelphia.

Graham reportedly gave false testimony in several of his cases including Meek's. Graham reportedly testified that Meek had pointed a gun at officers at the time he was arrested. Meek vehemently denied the claims and even Graham's fellow officer, Jerold Gibson, corroborated Meek's side of the story.

According to CBS' Philadelphia affiliate, other cases involving Officer Graham have been overturned, so Meek thinks his own case should be, too.

The hearing and all of the events related to it have been hanging over Meek's head for a while now. In an interview CBS News posted today (July 16), Meek tells Gayle King about everything he's been through from the unfair reason why he was arrested in the first place to his newfound dedication to criminal justice reform. Meek also revealed how his current probation status has affected his family life so far.

"My son lived in New Jersey, but I lived in Philadelphia, and the bridge is [a] 15-minute ride. It's just a bridge," explained Meek, who says he had to ask his probation officer for permission to leave the city.
