If you were traveling southbound down I-35 on Saturday morning you may have witnessed the aftermath of a fatal accident.

According to our news partners at KWTX, a semi-truck crashed into the back end of a Honda that was broken down in the center lane of I-35 at approximately 5:40 AM on February 22nd. The Honda had been in a previous car accident and was disabled. The crash took place just before exit 323.

The semi-truck overturned after the accident, but the driver did not receive any injuries. Unfortunately, the driver of the Honda, Arturo Gonzalez-Medina, of Mount Calm, did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic was diverted from the highway to the access road as emergency personnel attempted to lift the overturned semi.

Our sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of Arturo Gonzalez-Medina.
