This is all due to a change in Texas prison system policy, according to KXXV! Previously, only inmates who entered the system already taking hormones were eligible, now even the inmates who transition behind bars are eligible. TDCJ spokesman Jason Clark says inmates are only prescribed hormone therapy only after reviews by a gender dysphoria specialist, an endocrinologist and having an affirmative diagnosis.
