President of UT Dallas removes student after controversial rape case
Earlier this week, a judge accepted a plea deal in a rape case that saw Jacob Anderson walk free after pleading no contest.
Needless to say... people are mad!
According to a representative for state district Judge Ralph Shorter, Jacob Anderson's plea deal includes him taking a lesser charge of unlawful restraint and will not have to register as a sex offender.
Anderson was accused of raping a 19-year-old earlier this year.
He was then expelled from Baylor University after he was arrested and indicted on 4 counts of sexual assault.
The DALLAS STAR-TELEGRAM reports that numerous petitions that include over 130,000 signatures have been obtained to pressure Anderson's current school, The University of Texas at Dallas to expel him.
It seems like they worked because a statement was just released shortly on the status of the student.
