Second man will be executed Wednesday in 1998 Dragging Murder

I remember hearing about this in high school and it becoming a talking point for George W. Bush's political opponents for his presidential election of 2000 because he was the governor of Texas when this happened.

Back in 1998, three men chained James Byrd Jr​. to the back of a truck in Jasper, TX and dragged him to his death arguably being one of the most gruesome hate crimes in American History.

Since this heinous crime, The James Byrd Jr Hate Crimes Act was introduced back in 2001 signed into law by then Governor Rick Perry.

The second man convicted in that crime, John William King is scheduled to be executed Wednesday.
