Skeletal remains were discovered on Friday morning in Central Texas.

According to a report from our news partners at KWTX, authorities were able to locate skeletal remains in a wooded area using a K9.

Officials decided to search the 3200 block of Florence Road in Killeen after receiving information from the Fort Hood criminal investigation about a tip.

There has been no information regarding gender or age on the remains, but some Central Texans are already wondering if they could be that of Vanessa Guillen. I certainly hope not, as so many of us are still hoping she'll be found safe.

An autopsy has been ordered, and officials are treating the location of the remains as a possible crime scene.

Guillen has been missing for close to 2 months, and there is currently a reward of $50,000 for information about her disappearance.

Vanessa was last seen in Fort Hood on April 22 in the parking lot at the Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters of the 3rd Cavalry Regiment.
