A week from today, September 1st it will be a felony if you are caught stealing packages from someone's porch.

According to House Bill 37 if you take anything that is considered mail, including postcards and packages you will be charged with a first-degree felony.

If you steal from more than 50 people you will be charged with a first-degree felony.

You will be charged with a second-degree felony if you are stealing from 20-50 people and a state felony if you steal from less than 10 people.

It also notes that these charges are worth 6 months to 10 years and up to $10,000 in fines.
