Warning: After 7 Deaths, Toy Sold In Texas Now Recalled
After the recent deaths of seven children, a complete recall of a toy sold through Walmart is now happening in Texas. If you have purchased one of these toys, please read below to know what you should do.
Why was this toy recalled in Texas?
Obviously when the safety of children is involved, the motivation to move very quickly is at its highest. With Christmas still only a few weeks ago, children have all sorts of new toys and this recall was issued only days after Christmas passed on December 28th, 2023.
What toy is linked to the 7 deaths?
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, you are looking for this toy that is called Relax 5mm Science Kit, Large Hematite Magnets Magnetic Stones Building Blocks. Obviously, after learning about at least seven deaths caused by the science kit, there probably is not a parent on the planet of a child that owns one that is relaxed.
What should I do if we have one of these recalled toys?
You need to reach out to the seller Joybuy by calling (collect if necessary): 302.426.4543 between 9 AM and 5 PM Pacific Monday through Friday. The seller will provide a prepaid label to return the item as quickly as possible.
How was the recalled toy responsible for 7 deaths?
As little children often do, they were putting the magnetic balls into their mouths and swallowing them. The magnets were then sticking together causing blockages and other internal damage that caused the children to die.
