According to the Texas Tribune, the transgender "bathroom bill" tentatively passed by a 21-10 vote in the Texas Senate on Tuesday. The legislation, Senate Bill 6, requires transgender people to use bathrooms affiliated with their birth gender, not gender identity, in public schools, government buildings and other publicly-owned facilities. In order for it to become law, the upper chamber must approve before sending it on to the House.
