Southwest Airlines Now Avoiding This Massive Texas Airport
There has been a lot of news lately about airlines in regards to refunds, delays, and now comes word that one of the largest airlines in the world is no longer going to be flying to several locations including one of the biggest airports not just in Texas, but the whole United States.

Southwest Airlines could be in serious trouble after they just reported nearly a quarter of a billion dollars in losses in the first quarter. The last time an airline was losing money like this, the holding companies for US Air and American Airlines had to merge.
It was just over a year ago when Southwest was fined about $140 million dollars because of the holiday debacle of 2022 that stranded nearly countless people for several days.
By the way, it isn't just Southwest that is hurting, American just reported losses of over $300 million in the first quarter.
Southwest Airlines Now Avoiding This Massive Texas Airport
The first of what looks to be many future moves was to announce that Southwest is no longer going to fly customers to and from George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, and you can also forget grabbing a flight anywhere in Texas to Cozumel, Mexico.
Southwest has also decided to pull out of operations in Bellingham, Washington and Syracuse, New York. At this time, Southwest is moving forward with an expectation to finish the year with about 2,000 less employees than it began 2024.
