The Game Ordered to Pay $7 Million in Sexual Assault Lawsuit
Update (Nov. 21, 11:00 a.m.):
With word of a court decision in The Game's sexual assault case released this weekend, TMZ is now reporting that a judgement of $7.13 million has been entered against the rapper. An Illinois court ruled in favor of Game's accuser, Priscilla Rainey, though a judge denied access to the rapper's financial records. Game reportedly plans to appeal the decision.
Back in August 2015, Rainey filed a lawsuit against the Compton rapper, alleging that the "100" performer had sexually assaulted her during the after-hours of filming for a reality show She's Got Game in May 2015.
Rainey says that she'd been led to believe that she was required to go on a date with The Game when the reality show wasn't being filmed. According to her, the date at an Illinois bar saw a highly intoxicated Game slide his hand up her dress to touch her private parts. In August 2015, Rainey filed a $10 million lawsuit against The Game, claiming that she'd suffered "physical, psychological and emotional damages" as a result of the assault.
For his part, The Game has fiercely denied the allegations from the beginning, claiming that Rainey was a prostitute and that she had spent time in a mental institution. Although TMZ reported that Game had lost the case back in February, the "Dreams" rapper had his lawyers file paperwork to have Rainey's sexual history examined in court. We're not sure what The Game's official courtroom defense consisted of, but whatever he used clearly wasn't enough to land a verdict in his favor.
