T.I. recently spoke with TMZ about Troy Ave's ongoing criminal case for the shooting death of Ronald "Banga" McPhatter. The Atlanta artist didn't want to speculate on Troy's guilt or innocence, but he did bring religion into the equation.

Tip says, "I ain't gon' get into no discussion about any details of any criminal case for anybody. That's what lawyers are for. Me, myself, I've got a lot of love for Troy, and I just think he has enormous potential. He has his own relationship with God. All you gotta do is keep God first, and you can pull through it. Sometimes there are things that involve situations that go beyond what the eye can see. So for things like that, you've gotta step out on faith. And him being able to do that -- hopefully that will make the difference."

These comments come nearly a month after the tragic shooting at a T.I. concert at Irving Plaza in New York City. The 34-year-old McPhatter was killed, and four other people were injured. One day after the event, it was reported that T.I. helped one of the victims with his bodyguard as they waited for an ambulance.

Troy is currently recovering from a gunshot wound in Riker's Island's infirmary unit. It was recently decided that he will not be charged with murder. He is facing one count of second degree attempted murder charges and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He recently released a new mixtape aptly titled Free Troy Ave. Stay locked to XXL as more information surrounding Troy Ave's criminal case emerges.
