September 12, when the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will hold an open house from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The stadium is located at 905 University Drive, on the UMHB campus.

The open house will give fans a chance to preview the amenities of the 8,766 seat multi-million dollar stadium, from the 26’ x 40’ video scoreboard to the concourse-level concession stands where fans can order snacks while continuing to watch the game.  Guests will also be able to tour areas not usually open to the public, such as the service level where the locker rooms are located and the press level where the operations/production room and suites are located.

The Crusader football players will be practicing on the new field beginning at 7:00 p.m., preparing for their September 14 face-off with Kean University in New Jersey.  Concession stands will be selling bottled drinks and Cru Dogs, the new signature sandwich of Crusader Stadium.

“We know that our loyal fans have been following construction of the stadium with great anticipation,” said Dr. Randy O’Rear, president of UMHB.  “We hope they will come by to tour the facility, see where their seats will be, and try a Cru Dog while watching the team work out on the field.”

The grand opening and dedication of Crusader Field will be held on evening of the team’s first home game, September 21, when the Crusaders play perennial Division III powerhouse, Wesley College.  Pregame ceremonies will begin at 5:30, with kickoff taking place at 6:00 p.m.  The evening will culminate in a fireworks display following the game.  A limited number of tickets are still available – for more information, call 254-295-4455 or go online to www.cruathletics.com.
