Want to mingle and play games with Killeen judges?
According to a press release, Killeen Mayor Jose Segarra has issued a proclamation that November 5 through November 9th be Municipal Court Week In Killeen.
An excerpt from the proclamation says:
“Killeen’s municipal judges and clerks strive to continually improve the administration of the court in order that Killeen Municipal Court of Record provides the highest standard of service to uphold justice in the interest of all.”
The Killeen Municipal Court will be open to the public that week.
Events occurring that week include a mock trial hosted by teenagers, they'll also host a game night event where you'll be able to meet Judges and staff and participate in games and activities with them.
Who knows if you let a particular judge beat you in a game, and you pop up in court for a ticket they may look the other way....well it's worth a try anyway!
Presiding Judge Mark Kimball said: “We host this event to bring the community into the courtroom to have some fun while promoting safety, at the end of the night, we hope to have given the public a little insight into the judicial system.”
