Fire On Central Texas Expressway In Killeen
I am a part of the group What's Happening In Killeen/ Fort Hood, so while scrolling on their page I saw this crazy video (uploaded by Eithyn Gray) Monday of a car bursting into flames on Central Texas Expressway!
From what I can see, the cause of the fire is unknown and there haven't been any published reports of what happened.
It doesn't seem like anyone was injured as firefighters were present, but it raises the question of what makes a car explode into flames like that in the first place.
What To Do If Your Car Catches Fire
According to State Farm Insurance, some car fires are caused by collisions, but most come from issues like faulty wiring and cigarettes being left in the car. The fires can occur near the wheels and brakes, under the hood, and in other places.
Here is what is suggested from State Farm, if a fire starts in your car:
- Stop The Car
- Get everyone out of the car
- Stand at least 1000 feet
- Call 911
- Alert oncoming traffic
