Texas Sheriff’s Deputy Undergoes Successful Surgery After Acciden

A Limestone County Sheriff’s Deputy is doing well following surgery after sustaining serious injuries he received in a single vehicle crash on Saturday night.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Office took to Facebook to announce his progress on Monday. (Nov. 29)

According to a report from our news partners at KWTX, Deputy Evans was on his way to a call in Coolidge when his vehicle hydroplaned off Highway 171 on Saturday night.

The Facebook post said,

“Thankfully, the deputy is alive, but he did suffer a injury that is requiring surgery and will take time to recover and heal. We will continue to pray for the deputy and his family. We are also thankful for the many people that have reached out and offered to help. We would also like to thank the other first responders and law enforcement that came to help the deputy he is very grateful as are we.”

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the wreck.

The pictures of the vehicle look horrible. From the looks of the officers unit, it's a miracle Deputy Evans survived. FOX44 News reports that the surgery went well and that “they are going to start the road to recovery.”

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple

A while back, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.

This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).

So now Dutch Bros. is open in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.

Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
