Houston, Texas has several families most likely asking today what went wrong, and how did three teenagers end up dead after the vehicle they were occupying was being pursued by law enforcement officers. According to this KHOU article, the Harris County Sheriff's Office claimed the police chase lasted less than a minute, and in the amount of time an average person can hold their breath the evading vehicle reached speeds up to 90 miles per hour, and three of the six occupants are now dead.

According to reports, a Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy was alerted via a Flock Camera hit that the suspect's vehicle had been reported stolen, and so the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop. That is when the driver of the allegedly stolen car attempted to outrun the deputy, and smashed head first into a tree after failing to turn a sharp corner in the residential neighborhood of Cypresswood.

The deaths will be investigated as in-custody deaths because they occurred while a traffic detainment was being attempted. Deputies are also trying to piece together more information by interviewing the survivors of the crash, and believe the occupants were involved in burglary activities.
