With August winding down, there is only a week left before kids everywhere trade in their swimsuits for sack lunches.

As someone who has been done with school for 3 years, here are the things I miss most about going back to class:

NEW SCHOOL SUPPLIES:

There's nothing quite like the smell of a new box of crayolas, or fresh pencils still unsharpened. And you clearly weren't part of the cool crowd unless you rocked some serious Lisa Frank Supplies. (I obvi had both of these designs below)

GETTING BACK IN A ROUTINE:

I don't know about you, but from June to August, I woke up  around lunchtime. Even though it sucks waking up early, you get to eat breakfast and feel good about yourself again!

SEEING YOUR FRIENDS:

Let's be honest, the only reason you get really excited for school to roll back around is so that you can see your friends! Especially when you are in the 3rd grade, and school is the only time you can really socialize and talk about boys.

SACK LUNCHES:

I miss the days when someone would make my whole lunch for me, complete with capri sun and a napkin note. And everyone knows when it comes to the hierarchy of fruit snacks, Gushers win every time! (sorry fruit by the foot)

GETTING BACK IN SHAPE:

So back in the day, PE was my most dreaded subject. But in retrospect, it's kind of like having a personal trainer for free! And after 3 months of eating Cheetos and McDonalds all day, we could all probably use a little jog around the track.

BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING:

It's the unwritten rule of the first day of school. Whoever has the best first day outfit wins. Your first day back outfit had to be perfect, and you rocked that hallway like it was a catwalk!

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS:

In the great state of Texas, Friday nights are meant for one thing: High School Football. It was the one time when you get to feel like a superstar on display for the whole town, whether you were on the field, in the band, or cheering on the sidelines!

NEW TEACHERS:

Don't even act like you didn't hope for a "Mr. Fitz" every year. Too bad most of the teachers you had ended up being 60 year old ladies, but you still held out hope every year!
